Zebulon Dickey Wiley
On November 9, 2017 Zebulon Dickey Wiley was perfected and made whole again. He now rests in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
Born October 4, 1963 in Paducah Kentucky, “Zeb” graduated from Paducah Tilghman High School and attended The University of Kentucky. He returned to Paducah to work alongside his father at George Wiley Real Estate for several years. Later, he worked for The Paducah-McCracken County Convention Corporation in operations, a job he very much loved and where he was thriving at the onset of his illness.
Zeb was the consummate outdoorsman. Embracing all sports, hiking, hunting and fishing with a contagious sense of wonder and adventure. He had many dear friends who shared great times with him in a duck blind, fishing boat or on a hiking trail. He was often accompanied by his beloved Dachshund, Dooley.
Zeb spent the last two years of his life with his twin brother George and sister in law, Kate on their beautiful farm in West Monroe, Louisiana. There he was surrounded by nature and spent happy days fishing in the pond, walking with the dogs and accompanying his brother to tennis matches and sporting clay competitions. It was here that he died peacefully, in his sleep, after a walk around the pond with George and Kate.
Zeb was proceeded in death by his beloved parents Mr. and Mrs. George Emerson Wiley and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. C.R McEwen and Dr. and Mrs. William S Wiley
He is survived by his brother George Emerson Wiley, Jr and wife Kate of West Monroe, Louisiana, sisters Caroline Wilson and husband Dave of Davis, California and Jane Howe and husband Milton of Houston, Texas. Nephews, Wiley Wilson, Knox Howe, Alexander Howe, Zachary Streeter and niece, Rachel Raybourn. Also surviving are many close cousins, especially John Spencer of Winchester, Kentucky.
Zeb is also survived by a devoted and beloved group of friends, who made his life so full and complete. You were his family in every sense of the word. We would like to thank you all for your countless loving acts of kindness during his illness.
A family service was held on Sunday, November 12, 2017 in West Monroe. A memorial gathering will be held in Paducah, Kentucky at a future date.
If desired, memorial contributions may be directed to DREAM Dachshund Rescue or the charity of your choice in Zeb’s memory.
