Duane Arthur Emken
Funeral services for Mr. Duane Arthur Emken of Monroe, LA will be 2:00pm Wednesday, November 6, 2017 in the chapel of Griffin Funeral Home 600 Hwy 139 Monroe with Rev. Bill Lewis and Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park in Monroe under the direction of Griffin Funeral Home Monroe. Visitation will be from 12:00noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Emken was born December 5, 1933 in Polk, NE and passed from this life on November 5, 2017 in Monroe, LA at the age of 83. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict and was a deacon of Swartz First Assembly of God. He loved to ride his jet-ski and living life to its fullest.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Emken; his parents, Arthur and Vivien Emken and one sister, Leila Kailey.
Survivors include his children, Anna Johnson and husband Eugene of Oklahoma City, OK, Chad Adams and wife Shawn of Monroe, and Ray Jones and wife Debbie of Deville; his grandchildren, Victoria Stone and husband Jeremy of Moore, OK, Michael Johnson and wife Casey of Oklahoma City, OK, Danielle Adams of Monroe, Keri Angle and husband Matt of Deville, Kristi Sayer and husband John of Deville and Kenny Jones and wife D’Ann of Deville; two brothers, Harry Emken of Bennet, NE and Leland Emken and wife Rose of Kansas; one sister, Doris Heineke of Bennet, NE; also survived by ten great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Michael Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Kenny Jones, Gage Jones, Matt Angle and John Sayer.
